It
is maybe unique in Germany that the description of a travel guide
remains valid in its basic statement for a German landscape. The
statement that was written by Griebens Reiseführer
in 1912 describes Mecklenburg in a way that is even valid nowadays.
The landscape of Mecklenburg generally is characterised by
its comfortable breadth and its well-doing silence of all relations...
agriculture and forestry are on top here, meanwhile the industry
has only taken a very little circumference. That's why the country
is pleased because of its fresh air....
But it is
not only the landscape itself, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
there are exciting evidences out of different levels of time and
traditional parties, how people have adapted themselves in business
and culture of this landscape. They lived as farmers, fishermen,
workmen, shipbuilders and seamen, but also as professional men
and artists from the sources the landscape gave them. Far away
from the industrial conurbations they form the image of the whole
country till today.
The peculiarity
of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as a country with wide, less settled
areas pushes the life in the landscape and the nature that give
many spare time occupations into the foreground. Because you can't
hide from this nature. Landscape and nature are very close to
the life in the towns and villages.
You can travel
through Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with our homepage; you can get
to know more about the country and its people, its history, its
culture and its economy. You can inform yourself about events,
hotels and much more.
And if you
pack your bags because you want to get out, then you know why
there has been only one answer to the question:
And
where to go dear soul? - Where else to than to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern!
